The Dysautonomia Experience
The Dysautonomia Experience is a project developed in Touch Designer with the goal of representing visually the symptoms felt by a person with Dysautonomia POTS.
Dysautonomia POTS is a nervous system disorder that disrupts autonomic body processes, meaning that the autonomic functions don’t work properly causing disruptive symptoms. Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) is a type of dysautonomia characterized by an excessively fast heart rate and symptoms that can usually cause syncope (fainting).
Based on my personal experience, the projects seeks to represent the different symptoms in an immersive way, by using visuals and auditory effects. In the form of an interactive poster, it allows the viewer to jump through the symptoms till arriving to the syncope, or fainting, by using a keyboard that is connected to the visual.
