Lost in Translation delves into the challenges of language exploration through the use of typography, analyzing linguistic similarities, misunderstandings, and multilingual complexities visually. Divided into chapters, it navigates different language experiences, aiming to cultivate empathy for cross-cultural communication struggles. The project was motivated by the experience of emigrating and starting a life in a new language. Emigrating is inherently a challenging experience, leaving behind your home, family, friends, traditions, and experiences creates a void. However, the most difficult aspect of emigration might be leaving behind your language—the main tool for communication.

The visuals are accompanied by a four-chapter essay that narrates the journey of learning a language from ignorance to understanding, capturing the personal experiences and emotions along the way. Each chapter progressively shortens, reflecting how the process becomes easier and more familiar over time.
