Anatomy of the Refuge City
Anatomy of the Refuge City
Editorial
Anatomy of the Refuge City is an editorial project created during Tracks of Freedom, a trip to New York organized by the Rome University of Fine Arts as part of the Master’s in Visual and Innovation Design. It explores the elements that connect cities where no one truly belongs—places of constant movement and pilgrimage—curating experiences of visiting, living, and seeking refuge. From the cities I’ve lived in, through the one I lived in now, to the one I aspire to call home, the project takes shape as a zine—a journal of experiences—featuring an essay on the concept of the Refuge City and six postcards capturing its memories, each reflecting both the city’s shared elements and my identity, weaving them into a personal narrative.
